So after £14.5 million was spent on the new road network including a dual carriageway and a direct route to the single lane drop off zone, so avoiding the CTA roundabout, we end up with this at 6am on a Monday in the middle of May and with still 2 months to go for the peak travel period. This is also the road that has been designed to handle 18 million passengers.
The final missing section section of drop off zone will be open for the bank holiday weekend so we can look forward to an extra pedestrian crossing.
The question needs to be asked how did the airport get it so wrong? Was traffic management experts brought in to design the layout or was there money to be saved by getting the airport trainee to come up with a design.
The airport management will be reeling over this complete cock up and to date the complete waste of money that has been thrown at this project that has achieved nothing.
