The photos above is a reminder of what we can expect, but on a narrower scale, when the mass transit system is dug out under Aplha and then across the CTA to what is now the drop off zone to a semi underground station. Also the tunnel will be dug out under Alpha in two halves, as it was originally, as the taxiway will be moved and then put back, as the tunnel continues into the CTA.
I would have thought that once dug out and with the soil transported to the airports soil dumping ground by the run up bay the airport will finally have enough soil if they ever wanted to put a taxiway in to the very end of the runway. That is assuming that the soil is not needed for the rail link further down but I think more soil is being dug out than will be needed for embankments.
