To the OP. Who didn't really care for flying on is 'discovery' flight.
I took my first flying lesson at Booker near High Wycombe in the 1970s. It was a very windy Nor-east day. We took off from the cross grass runway that goes over the M40 that was under construction. There is a big cutting thru that hill. As we cleared the hedge the turbulence from the cutting made the plane drop, sending my heart into my mouth.
'Well, I better get used to it' I thought, because I'd already decided that I was going to do it, for the rest of my life.
