Wind up or not the fact remains. Several airlines have recruited in the last year, and not just type rated pilots. Yes they can be more fussy now, the ball is in their court. Just a few that I know of who have taken on pilots (some including low hours and ex FIs)

And I am sure there are others. So let's not just jump on the 'I can't get an interview therefore the airlines just aren't recruiting' bandwaggon. There is a certain truth in the original posters comments, like it or not. Granted this is a particularly hard time to find a job, but there are jobs about, few and far between, yes, so do everything to keep in the hunt.
