The lady at the CAA was indeed correct - its a new thing for people who are just outside limits. In my case I am .50 dioptres out on the limits for correction. The good eye doc in there said i could make a deviation request (which goes to the medical sub-committee) to see if they would give me a Class 2. (too far away from Class 1 initial unfortunately
)
I havent in fact needed to do it as I got a class 2 South African. But I asked him what were the chances and he said it should be ok, at that stage (March this year) they had only 2 so far - both failed approval but they were for Class 1.
