At this distance (51 years
) I cant remember the actual charge. I wonder if he pleaded not guilty on the grounds of the incorrect line painting etc, and refused to accept it being dealt with by the C in C , determined to have his day in court. I think the results in the Voyager case were certainly more serious, but whether the captain's actions were more blameworthy than the Argosy chap is open to argument.
I frequently had to peer out of my little window of the Victor, and give my captain a "clear starboard" when taxying, and often thought of that Argosy when I was doing it!
