Having considered both sides of the argument. I would have pre planned my latest options to divert either based on time or fuel required to alternate. If the wx at the alternate was good I would divert. I am covered legally. Now If the single runway at the alternate became blocked and there were no other alternatives. I would declare a fuel emergency and if necessary if the taxiway was long enough I would land on it.
