Its hard to make money on LCY, and Cityjet are moving away from being just a scheduled airline only. Sad for the affected families but LCY should need to wake up...
Unfortunately LCY has moved on from the days of Dermot Desmond owning the airport, who over a good period built up its traffic tremendously and invested loads into development. In recent times it has got into the hands of financial speculators who seem just to desire to divert almost every penny of margin into their own pockets, which has squelched innovative routes. Not just the high landing fees, but the car park is now ruinously priced (so all the corporate chauffeurs make a nuisance of themselves in the surrounding residential streets while the "short stay" bit of the car park is generally pretty empty).
