I am aware that was tongue in cheek btw.
I'm hopefully about to get myself onto the very bottom rung of the "pilot ladder", and EK doesn't appeal to me as a career goal anymore (this was my biggest dream/goal growing up and in college), nor does it appeal to those of my age who are just about reaching the ek hours requirment, far better opportunities here at home lined up (Europe), they're not even bothering to apply. It's amazing how different people's view of the place is, even among my peers just out of training, from dream to nightmare. From what I can gather, those still focusing on EK tend to be African, south east Asian, and the blind/ignorant. I do worry about people still there though, cos if few are joining, and people are still leaving, then who will help relieve your rosters
