We had a problem at the comparatively minuscule airport I used to run for East West Airlines (DPO).
Seagulls were a major problem and the authority that ran the airport baited Egg Island, the local rookery. Problem gone.
Later spur wing plovers were getting ingested. A surreptitious swap from bird scare rounds in the ground staff shotguns to buckshot and some motorcross in our tarmac ATV and again problem gone.
Works perfectly providing the chinless wonders don't find out.
Best all
