Through most of life, the only control someone has over you is that which you choose to delegate to them.
In any case, it would be frustrating to see some of these folks trying to paddle a raft to shore. No matter how talented or strong a rower they might be.
"Why isn't the raft moving"
"Well, you're all paddling in different directions...maybe you all want to try going the same way--things will work out better if you do"
"That's a stupid idea and I'll do things MY way......everyone paddle harder."
