Today the first steelwork has gone in on the former taxi rank. It is clear that the new terminal frontage sits much further out than the published drawings which just showed the 2 new entrances being projected out from the existing terminal. This is a 2 story affair and will have the entrances recessed within its structure. It will also link the new duty free shop and the terminal infill of the old bus station with the existing departure lounge and run for most of the full length of the terminal frontage and will also contain new retail outlets within it.
Because of its size the canopy will have less depth than first planned.
