True but totally co-incidental according to my source, there is (obviously) a tech reason for the ILS downgrade but it's not the car park.
The NOTAM states the following
DUE TO ROLLOUT GUIDANCE BEND APPROACHING AND JUST BEYOND TOUCHDOWN ZONE RWY 08/26 ILS HAS BEEN DOWNGRADED TO CAT3A
Having no technical knowledge of how an ILS would get a kink in the signal at both ends if it wasn't caused by the multistory car park I would struggle to see what else would cause it.
Anybody considered the implications on the ILS (if any) of the mass transit rail link going so close to the 08 threshold as well ?
Well you can add the 7 story new hotel that is under construction that is closer to the runway than the multistory car park but saying that some of those floors are below the runway but at least 2 of the floors are above it.
There is another hotel planned to go in further up the hill on the Ibis roundabout opposite the Ibis
