I cannot see it going over the Alpha Taxiway, keeping it below ground enables an extension out into the Enterprise Zone, Terminal 2??, New Car Parks and new businesses beyond Harrods Aviation. Also the new foundations on Pier 2 did not appear to deep so it will have to avoid those.
