Again one for a short hauler but have a look at 4468's comments about "Gypsy tours"....
AFAIK part of the problem on short haul is that legacy cabin crew and flight crew work to very different industrial agreements regarding turn around times, meal breaks, and crew composition across the varients so they often don't do the same days work at all...
