I really hope this isn't true but if it is the airport will have 5 extra stands it didn't have a week ago with the opening of the extra stand on the eastern apron.
Monarch has been an institution at Luton for 48 years and they would be sorely missed. They also have a training school that for years has produced many engineers after serving apprenticeships with Monarch. As well as their HQ building they have their hangar and various other buildings around the airport so their loss would be felt with many people put out of work.
It hasn't been a good month for the airport if Monach does fold. Fingers crossed that they may long continue.
