Construction update

The new service road to the undercroft is almost ready for tarmacking

The ground is also being raised for tarmacking around the bases of all the passenger footbridges

Eventually the drop off lane will pass either side of the first support while the approach road and exit will pass beyond the second support. The cones mark the location of the posts that will protect the terminal from terrorist attack by cars

Also being marked up for tarmacking is the exist route from the exit barriers. The route has recently had kerbs and crash barriers installed.

Finally, the airport might be now heading out of season but the traffic is still queuing from outside the CTA to get into the drop off zone despite plenty of spaces during busy periods. The truth is the new drop off zone is going to be the airports Achilles heel for next summer as the approach roads are still going to be at a standstill due to the pedestrian crossing to get to the island. I really can't see this being left as it is as the airport heads for 18 million.
