I am sure I am not going loopy here, but I am sure the current facilities before the expansion commenced, were only designed to handle 10 million. But miraculously the airport then said the current facilities were designed to handle around 12 million.
Think again gilesdavies. I just happen to have a copy of the development brief dated February 2000 which is 234 pages long. In there it states the new 1999 terminal has a capacity of 5 million passengers but this could grow to 10 million passengers if this was carried out.

It is questionable if this £110 million is now the true figure being invested?
The original figure quoted was £100 million but that increased to £110 million but what is the cost per passenger over the lifetime of the franchise? I think the franchise got extended so there is around 22 years left but lets call it 20 years.

5 million passengers per year capacity increase x 20 years=
100,000,000 extra passengers divided by £110,000,000.

Cost per passenger before interest payments = 90p assuming they reach the new capacity quite quickly.
