Currently flying for the "worlds favourite airline" and am getting a little disillusioned with the 15+ years to the left hand seat, whilst taking home HK$45k.
Maybe you should be concerned that people already in HK (CX & KA) on these "local" packages are trying to get the hell out of here and go to the "worlds favourite airline", because they've worked out that despite having to wait 15+ yrs to get to the left seat, the long term career earnings are better.
Don't be lured by the fact the $ are double. The cost of living in HK is more than double, unless you're living in inner London, in which case the cost of living in HK is probably about 50% higher.
