SMS is a management devised system where "stakeholders" are brought together to give the appearance that safety is a priority, when in fact the system is there to maximize profits whilst minimizing risk exposure to the Company by placing the risk upon the employee. (A days, AOD testing, Self-reporting, Medical etc)

1. Management are immune to scrutiny.
2. Line employees are the focus of scrutiny.
3. The use of lots of management "yuckspeak" to mask the first two components.
