Don't pay too much attention with what people are saying in these forums about HK and CX. Just because a few guys are pissed off and angry at their HK existance, doesn't mean it will apply to you.
If you do come to Cathay, you will be significantly better off, pay less tax and quiet likely have more days off than your regional job in OZ. It's what you make of it... You being in your early 30's and single, living as an expat pilot in HK has the potential to make life quiet interesting and fun. HK is a great city to meet other propfesional expats and the socialising, wining and dining scene is lively.
Coming here and having a look for yourself if this is what you want is the best way to approach it. Don't let anyone tell you how **** life is here and how much you will hate it!
