The airport claimed they run a free and open Tender for a taxi company to be based from the airport, and unfortunately Luton's taxi's were not successful with their bid...
Provided the tender was run freely and honestly I cannot see an issue.
However, the airport is also refusing to allow Hackney Carriage Taxi's to operate from the airport and will be no Taxi pick up zone for these drivers. I can see why the drivers are a little aggrieved on this part.
It almost sounds like the airport is trying to monopolise taxis from there!
It sounds a similar situation to when Greenline were not allowed to operate from the airport and all coaches were exclusively run my National Express to London.
You can only assume by the airport only allowing one taxi company to operate from there, this turns out to quite a nice deal for airport operator.
