With respect I strongly disagree. All the major airlines have an unhealthy bias towards recruiting cadets with zero hours and no type ratings. Having hours in this profession sadly counts for nothing (but that's a different discussion).

EasyJet, Ryanair, BA, Monarch and even Virgin have all this year recruited cadets with no hours, now if you tried and failed to secure "employment" with any of the above then give up. The answer is NOT to buy your way in, digging yourself a massive financial hole that you will never climb out of and destroying the profession along the way.

I disagree massively with the recruitment policies of airlines around Europe and I have made no secret of that fact, but it's too easy to blame them. If the never ending supply of trust fund wizards would dry up they would be forced to change, they would have to run cadet programmes that are fully funded from day one, selecting people on merit and ability opposed to the size of there families bank accounts.
