As a person who works for a company currently undergoing an exodus, it is now a common expectation to be available to "help out". They expect staff to go above and beyond by being available on days off, or when you should have signed off and be enjoying time with family, or managing fatigue.
Maybe a ban on emails going direct to your PED is one for the next EBA negotiation.
