It seems that when a new apron is added it makes no difference on relieving the pressure on stands 16-20 which goes back to the airport this summer.
Recent new aprons include the apron fronting Signature. The apron sitting next to the Gulfstream hangar and the two aprons by Signature Terminal 2. Existing aprons include the two Harrods aprons.
When the North West corner returns to full size that will be extra capacity again there but at the moment all these new aprons seem busy and won't be able to handle what is on 16-20 at the moment. Even the Southern apron had a business jet parked on it again yesterday.
Maybe all is not lost as parts of stands 16-20 are shown on plans as being "mixed commercial/FBO use"
