generally we convert to botswana CPL's before going for the rating, although crewing requiments dont always allow for this.

You need 500hrs A2 reg before applying for a botswana CPL, the botswana validation is just validating the authenticity of my current CASA licence and allowing me to fly A2 aircraft as endorsed as per CASA. The 208 isn't a rating in Australia just a GTE ground school, but correct me if I'm wrong.

If you have a read through the form 61 - 4CT it is basically what I've explained (completion of foreign training course & assessment) , although I'm still unsure if its legally possible to gain a GTE endorsement as per the Cessna 208 "rating" given at simuflight
