I was just wondering when easyJet will announce new flights that will commence around October time, if they are adding new routes that is. easyJet have definitely slowed growth at London airports so far this year, with two routes announced from Luton (Jersey & Dubrovnik) and Tivat the only route being announced from Gatwick this year. They also axed 5 routes from Gatwick from this month.
I think they still have loads more room for growth at Luton, but the factor that is prohibiting this growth slightly is the airport itself, as it is running at capacity.
Any news on any of the potential new routes from Luton, like Guernsey (Auringy Air) and Rome (Vueling)? I still think Florence with Vueling is strange, as flights are only showing as operating for a month from May to June.
I'm sure all the redevelopment works at Luton must be restricting EZY growth but that will surely change in time.
Wasn't the Aurigny interest for 2017?
As for Vueling, Rome and Florence wouldn't surprise me. Rome is a major base for them and maybe they are testing the waters with Florence - a route I'm sure could do very well. Aren't they doing something similar with AMS and BCN at present with a limited service before the full schedule commences?
