Is it legal?
Yes. According to the European regulation (see art. 6 paragraph 4a regulation (EU) Nr. 965/ 2012) pilots are allowed to share flights as long as the flight was intended by them, meaning that they do the flight either without or with passengers. Furthermore it is only allowed to share the costs based on the pro-rata of people attending. There is a limit of maximum 6 seats for the aircraft.
