Flight ops are on +44 1229 471407, I'd suggest just phoning and asking. But I think that you're likely to find that it's "company business only", which is fairly normal with BAeS airports.

Looks like a lovely quiet spot whenever I've flown over it en-route north, but I've never stopped.

Best alternate is probably Blackpool.

Just give them a call and ask permission, they do have a hangar there with a couple of aircraft with a gliding club, or they did when I flew for BAE a number of years ago, but I don't think much has changed.

If not available then try 'Cark' airfield just along the coast.
