Just booked my first flights to/from Luton to Barcelona in June.
Will be interesting to see what the airport is like first hand
Well don't expect too much and leave plenty of time to travel that final mile as passenger numbers will be picking up again for the summer peak. While there will be plenty of long spells during the day when road traffic flows will be just fine there will be random hot spots where you can pick up a delay. I call a delay when it adds even 5 minutes to your journey.
Just checked the google traffic flows into the CTA at 6:40 during half term and there are zero delays again so Luton is fine with passenger numbers at around 850,000 per month. It is when it tops a million a month that the problems seem to start.
It would be interesting if you can report back here with an unbiased report about your June trip. Better still if you came back next year after some of the improvements have kicked in particularly as the CTA and its car parks will be finished long before then.
For now, at least if you follow my weekly photo updates you will know what you are walking into
