In view of the past CAA recommendations in relation to runway length, LTN should after reaching it's 18 million target seek to extend it's runway thus attracting more long haul traffic.
Even if Luton ever did extend its runway Luton does not have the stands to accommodate larger aircraft. In fact the stands on the hangar line are being squeezed to add more parking of smaller aircraft.
