You're quite right. No one cares if you can fly.
Seriously? Isn't appropriate / good/ min standard/ adequate (insert preferred description here) stick and rudder skills just a given? The point is that being a knob who can fly a perfect EFATO and engine out approach isn't going to get you a Guernsey. Being a good operator who can still fly a high standard EFATO and EO approach is going to be viewed much more highly.
