I remember on Qrewroom when Richard was to receive his Chairmans award for his role as Captain on QF32 all the bleating about how unfair it was on the other crew who received lesser accolades.
The bleating was about how the CSM got higher accolades than the F/O (not the captain). The F/O contributed a lot more to the safe outcome than the CSM but was not publicly recognised for it.
