One of the complaints about Stansted is that passengers have to walk through a shopping centre to get to the gates. Well Luton will be the same.
All passengers will initially weave their way through the old security hall and new terminal infill which will be luxury brands. They will then turn left across the old entrance below which will be affordable luxury.
They will then enter the main departure lounge with its shops but from the extreme right rather than the present middle.
It is going to be one hell of a walk for anyone in a hurry needing to get to stands 1-4 as they will then have to walk the full length of the departure lounge before heading off down a walkway. It will make the terminal seem much bigger than it really is.
A brand new canopied entrance and exit plaza for protection against the weather
Another 7 retail outlets selling food will be under that canopy so expect to see some considerable table and chairs.
