I flew twice to Orlando direct, once during 1989 and again a year later from Luton. 26 years later a far more modern jet with sophisticated engines cannot? I guess that is called progress. Mind you, back then, folk were given leg room!
Hawaii was just an example of the stated performance of the 787 from Luton's runway, must have been empty, on a cold day and the crew eating lemon curd sarnies.
I think that you'd have to be barking mad to start Luton-Dubai, but then again, Silverjet were just about to give it a go!
