Quite complicated, it depends which base your at if you have a permanent position, but it can be quite low in some bases. The UK seems to be the best place to be based. I know there are crew around the network earning around the €6000 mark without putting money into a pension. In my opinion the question about moving back to Europe from the gulf has to be a lifestyle decision, you definatly wont get rich from flying with Ryanair however being home every night with family (if your based at home) is more important than money for some crew. Worked 800 - 900 hours/year however with the spread of the roster it seems to work out.

As far as I know you have to self fund type rating regardless if you are a cadet or DEC.
