I'm in pretty much the same position, local to my base, home every night ,but I cant see myself doing 4 sectors every day for the next 20 odd years,retiring without having tried something different would be a big regret. A small pay cut for a more relaxed life........
I believe you don't actually pay anyone the 30k,I understand it's just held in escrow/bank guarantee.
And it's only 3 years,if I don't like it, I'll leave! (But with a few 787/777 pic hours...)
