I do hope new carriers flying duplicate routes to other established airlines based at the airport, doesn't cause issues further down the line
You make a fair point Giles (but do cheer up
) - you could look at it the other way though and say that easyjet have left themselves open to competition by not building sufficient frequency on their key Luton routes.
Just to give one example (there are many more) - their foray into Munich has been woeful with not even a daily service and clearly aimed at the UK originating leisure sector rather than business or german originating travellers.
However I think Monarch is still viewed as vulnerable by some of the more predatory carriers out there.
