Calm down people, let's get Transavia and Vueling routes through the door and flying, then see how they perform, before we start talking about them creating bases here and further routes from LTN!
I love it how we have two bits of good news, and everyone's mind goes into overdrive, who will be the next new carrier and what exotic routes will they offer?!
But it has been an awesome coup for the airport in recent weeks. They need congratulating on the hard work behind the scenes, they must have done to secure these carriers.
It isn't a major concern, but I do hope new carriers flying duplicate routes to other established airlines based at the airport, doesn't cause issues further down the line. For example them reducing capacity on a route or moving capacity away from the airport.
We have seen this with a few East European routes that easyJet use to fly and threw the towel in, like Budapest, Prague, Warsaw and Krakow.
