Our crew meal is compossed of a meat/salad roll or lavish bread, a chocolate, piece of fruit, or some crackers. I think it's suitable. It's not first class, but our duty's are quiet short, so there is always time to run into the terminal in between flights and get something else if we choose. Most crew tend to bring there own low fat/ healthy options from home. There is always plenty of pax food left over if you are really desperate.
If I have bought my own from home, I give my meal to the baggage handlers or cleaners. They love it, as they are not supplied with anything. That way it doesn't get wasted, and also makes someone else happy. Worst case senario, I bring it home and give it to my dog. He adores it!
Some crew complain about the crew meals, but I have never had an employer provide me with meals before, so I am grateful.
