Apparently the SuperJet 100 has substancially lower operating costs than it`s Embraer and Bombardier competitors and the purchase price is significantly lower. A bold move indeed, fortune favours the brave!
Neither point is correct I'm afraid: the SSJ100's guaranteed DOCs are higher than both those of the CRJ1000 and the E190 although they may come down as the aircraft matures and the MPD is revised. Block fuel burn on 1.5 - 2 hr sectors is almost identical, engine SV costs are much higher. With respect to price, and depending upon spec/final negotiations, the SSJ100 is some $1.5m less than the E190 but some $3m more than the CRJ1000.
However, the SSJ100 comes with very competitive financing and other hard to turn down goodies.
