At the risk of being accused of being a pedant, there is a difference between an accident and an incident, although it sometimes ( almost always) suits people to obscure the not so subtle differences for
PR purposes --- ie: Airlines have incidents that are accidents, but "accident" sound far more serious to the ignoratii and the twitterartii.
