converting a uk cpl to a uk ppl
i would like to go back flying again after several years , my atpls exams are expired , and i converted my jaa cpl to an easa cpl a few years back as i didnt want to loose the cpl
i am now 40 so the chances of making it commercially are very slim.
however recently i went to a local flying school to get my single engine revalidation , however because i hold a cpl they wanted to charge me 240 euros an hour where as if it was a ppl it would only be 185 euros an hour.
despite the single engine revalidation being the same for both , the price difference was 55 euros an hour . i was hoping to do it there as i live near the school , nearest other school is 70 miles.
i must ring the caa uk next week as surly it should be easy to get a uk ppl based on a uk cpl so that i can go flying again.
i thought it was a bit harsh by the school , anyones thoughts?
