What makes Wizz so evident at Luton is the sheer size of their operation now.
They average 41 arrivals a day (576 movements a week), giving them a weekly (summer) capacity of 103,680. When A321 aircraft are introduced in the winter, that capacity will increase further.
They serve 30 destinations in 14 countries at present, with a further three destinations and one "new" country (Moldavia) starting before the end of October. In terms of destinations, their best served market is Poland with 7 destinations, followed by Romania with 6, increasing to 8 later this year. Interestingly, Romania is also served by two other operators (Tarom and Blue Air), so the market is evidently strong.
Whatever colour their aircraft, Wizz are a central feature of Luton's current operation.
