You must be discounting MH370 and the 'Alps Incident'
Utterly irrelevant to the medical requirements for a private pilot, the Class 1 medical for professional pilots is different and stricter because they carry paying passengers.
There is no evidence of medical issues in the MH370 mystery.
Class 1 medicals do not currently assess the possibility of future suicidal tendencies.
