As an observation on the recognition of the effects of the NPAS restrictions on policing, Peter James is the author of a detective series centred on Brighton. His latest novel makes constant and firm reference to the loss of H900 and the lost ability to have air cover over Brighton and Hove within three minutes, against NPAS 15 with a minimum of 15 minutes if available and not being used by Surrey, Kent or Hampshire. Which has its influence on the outcome of his story, of course!
