Sounds bogus to me, Asia is pretty much a closed shop for non experienced FO's.
Even in the notably corrupt countries like Indo and Thailand, the local CAA have now got rules in place banning the recognition of foreign licences without several hundred hours on type.
I'm trying to think of a single country with a "national airline" that operates A320s, that doesn't have such a rule in place, and I can't think of one.
