Welcome to aviation.
My advice is that day by day you becoming less current and generally between you and someone who has just come out of Oxford say today they will go for him. Also been told that after 6-9months you are unemployable.
Advice mate don't bother with the US for hour building anyonw with a bit of £££ or $$$ can do that, but go and get an instructors rating. You get paid for flying and it is good fun, keeps yoyu current and you make contacts. Thats how I did it and now flying a lovely turboprop for a reasonable airline.
One last word I am sick and tired of people moaning why they can't get a job when they are actively not trying (OK I know you have been sending out CV's). People need to get off their a*** anddo something about it and I wish people would change their attitudes on flying instruction. I know which people are laughing when the other guy is not getting a job!!!
Good luck
