A & C, In hindsight, I agree with you. I did think about it at the time, and feared that the chains with no stretch would stock load, and risk breaking the Lycoming lift lug I'd used as an anchor horizontally. However, the straps had come loose, as you say, so I have learned a lesson, and would do it differently next time!
