I wouldn't be getting excited about S/O positions just yet. All that has happened is that the pilots have voted in favour of the EBA. It still has to be approved by FWA then it has to be integrated into the normal rostering and pay systems. Recruiting S/O is way down the list of priorities.
I sense an advanced cadetship of sorts being used for the newly created S/O positions. No idea about ab-initio cadets, no reason to take them in with so little hours.
They use ab-initio cadets for RHS positions now so it would make more sense to put them in S/O positions. There was an advanced cadetship initially but it no longer exists.
